what a depressing night

pete, the boys, and i went swimming tonight. it seemed like a good idea until i got to the pool and saw all the bathing beauties flaunting their perfect bodies in their scantly clad bikini. after looking and thinking a little the thought occurred to me "with a few more walks around the block, a little ab work, and a tan, i could hang with these girls". then i quickly remembered the permanent things that wouldn't be so easily changed like the stretch marks, the spider veins, the saddlebags, the flat flabby boobs, the flabby tummy, the cellulite, you know, those sort of things. i quickly reassured myself that it was really ok because no one was really looking at me, and then i remembered that i was being looked at. i was being looked at by all those girls that were thinking "i sure will not let myself look like that when i'm a mom!". sigh.

Aw Jen! Indeed we all feel that, and you are so beautiful you don't need to worry. And with your earlier post, I'm so impressed you can get out the door after all those home adventures. Way to be a super-mom!!!

What Jen is failing to tell you is, that the girls she was comparing herself to were in high school. In addition they were the type of girls you wouldn't want your teenage son around. She was the hottest mom there by a long shot.

If it makes you feel any better, I am a member of that same club now. The thought of even putting on a swim suit makes me cringe. But on the bright side, I would have traded a million stretch marks for Stockton any day of the week. And plus, I know Troy's not going anywhere. :)

can we go swimming together? i need a mom that feels the same way i do. oh wait, i can't fill out a swimming suit anymore...that's what nursing twins will do (but i wouldn't change doing that). i might however be open to some lifesaving plastic surgery in order to fill out that suit so i can go swimming with you....

I bet those girls were all there with their girlfriends. I bet they looked at Pete and were jealous of you!

You look great! However I know how you feel and here I go on number 4. I am afraid it will never be again for me. The boobs, tummy, legs, even my arms look weird. Oh well! I will soon have 4 beautiful kids. If my body is the price to pay then I will gladly pay it. (with a few tears and never being seen in the light:)
