Sleeping Woes

I know after the last post many of you may be thinking our kids sleep with us at all times. well, they don't, but perhaps they should. our sweet little scooter bug (will) doesn't want to sleep anymore. gone are the days where we can just lay him in his crib and walk out and have him go to sleep. this has been going for over a month now, so i'm afraid it's not going to be a passing phase. it takes around an hour of crying and coaxing to get him to sleep at night. i'm patient because i did this with sam for, um, 3 years (??), but it doesn't mean i love it. any suggestions? it does seem like i remember sam getting worse around the 18-24 month with his sleeping. is this true with anyone else? i know it will pass, but any magical secrets would still be appreciated. here's to happy sleeping....

I have no advice and can only say good luck! Ava is the same way - she switched one day and it now takes me over an hour to get her to bed every night. It's been going on for 6 or so months and I see no end in sight. Ugh.

Hi Jen, I promise I am not a crazy person, I am a friend of Meghans and went to Jr High with Pete. First I would like to say how adorable your family is, I find you blog very inspiring and your post about the new you really hit home with me, I just have not had the guts to do anything about it, yet. And your "Amazing" post had me in tears, it was amazing and just what I needed to read at the time.
Anyway, I have just finished reading a blog of someone who had the same problem. She used a sticker chart, for every night he went to bed and stayed in his bed all night he would earn a sticker and after a week or two he would get a prize. Like a movie night where he would get to pick the rental, or a trip to get a slurpee, ect. She was skeptical at first but he was really excited about it and it ended up working really well for them. Good Luck. Leslie

What is it with you bloggers and CAPITALIZATION? :) Is it once you get a certain amount of followers you can just through proper grammar out the window? Just kidding Snookie, I think you are cool even if you choose not to use cAPiTAL letters. By the way Scooters new sleeping habits do suck! I'm just glad he hasn't learned how to crawl out of the crib yet. Although, with his jumping fits I can see him accidently jumping out of the crib.

Im sorry, I got the two boys confused and misread your post. Will is almost the same age as my Addie, clearly a sticker chart won't work. Sorry for the mishap. Good luck in finding something that might work.

leslie thanks for your nice comment. no worries on mixing the boys up. i love the idea for sam because if i must admit he's not the best sleeper either. i will remember this idea to use with sam when he falls back into that difficult sleeping rut. as for will, i guess we will just endure. :( thanks again though for the tip!
